Paint the Town Green - Help Build a Forest this June!
We are celebrating the great work that Greening Taupō and Kids Greening Taupō do in our community by ‘Greening Taupō’ AGAIN! Join the team on Friday 3 June 2022 and together, let’s paint the town GREEN!
Some of the Spacecraft team will be attending the planting day on Friday 3rd, from 9.30am - 1pm at Crown Park, so grab your gumboots (and your umbrella!) and join us. The store team will show their support by wearing green.
But that's not all, Spacecraft are celebrating with Greening Taupo for whole the month of June.
Our aim is to help plant not only a tree, but a forest! And you can do your bit by adding $5 to your purchase instore or online, and we will match you dollar for dollar. And together we can watch our forest grow!
To kick things off we have created a "Magical Forest" window display. Our green wonderland of toadstools and bunny rabbits are all made from recycled and repurposed materials, including old paper tubes from Quality Print, paper-mache using recycled newspapers, sustainable paints from Resene and a forest floor of artificial grass that we have been using over and over. Set amongst this you'll see some of our amazing Superga sneakers that are made from both organic and recyclable materials. Here at Spacecraft we are passionate about our environment, and this window wonderland display embodies all that we believe in and strive to achieve.
Greening Taupo was established to improve the Taupo environment for people and the native wildlife, as well as being an opportunity to participate in a community conservation initiative. Promoting green urban development is good for people, business and the environment.
Even if you can't physically help out on Greening Taupo's planting day, come on down to our store on Te Heuheu St during the month of June, marvel at our wonderful window, come in and have a look around, then buy a tree...what a great way to spend a day!
