Spacecraft a Finalist in Great Lake Taupo Business Awards

 Spacecraft Named Finalist

Spacecraft are proud to be named finalists in the 2021 Unison Great Lake Taupo Business Awards! The team attended a function at the Great Lake Centre on Thursday 1 July where the finalists were named. After a huge effort we are thrilled to be named a finalist in all four categories we entered:

  • Excellence in Small/Medium Business
  • Excellence in Leadership
  • Excellence in Sustainability
  • Excellence in Marketing & Social Media

Twenty six local businesses have been recognised for their business excellence across nine different categories. The Awards are held every second year and encourage and support businesses in the greater Taupo region in their quest for sustainable growth, development and excellence.

With over 100 entries received across the categories, the finalists were determined by a judging panel from the Business Management faculty of Toi-Ohomai Institute of Technology. Entrants were required to enter into one of the four business categories and answer a comprehensive range of questions, on topics including customer focus, business planning and people management. They could then choose up to three of the business practice categories to enter which were, innovation, environmental sustainability, social media and marketing, community contribution and leadership.

With a record number of entries this year the Head Judge Jeni Fountain said the standard was extremely high and in some categories there was very little distinguishing the scores to determine the finalists.

The finalists are now subject to a further phase of judging before the winners are announced at a Gala Dinner at the Great Lake Centre on the 20th of August. The whole Spacecraft team will be going and we can’t wait to celebrate on the night with the team and other local businesses.

Every finalist is visited by one of a further panel of independent business experts. The scores from this visit are added to the earlier score generated from the written entry, and these combined figures are used to identify the nine category winners, and the Unison Overall Business of the Year.

BNZ People’s Choice Award
This year the finalists also get to vie for the title of the BNZ People’s Choice Award. This is your chance to have a say and vote for Spacecraft! To vote visit slido.com and vote Spacecraft!!
